Ayodhya: Today in Ayodhya, the much-awaited saffron flag will be hoisted by the devotees on the top of this temple, and this flag hoisting is not just an event but a symbolic moment. The entire construction of the temple has been completed, and today's event is considered an important step towards its completion. The city has been specially decorated for this grand ritual—colorful lights, laser shows, and flower decorations throughout the night in the temple complex have made the atmosphere solemn and dignified.

Why the auspicious time of 44 minutes?

According to astrologers, today the flag hoisting will take place in “Abhijeet Muhurta,” which will be from 11:45 am to 12:29 pm. This period has been chosen because Lord Rama is believed to have been born in this Muhurta. Therefore, this moment today has special religious importance.

Why is November 25 chosen?

This date has been chosen because, according to the Hindu calendar, today is the holy day of Vivah Panchami—when Lord Rama and Mother Sita were married in Treta Yuga. Because of this holy coincidence, today becomes even more special.

Why is the flag so special?

The saffron flag that will be hoisted on the top of the temple will be approximately 22 feet long, 11 feet wide and 42 feet long. There are three main symbols inscribed on this flag: the Sun God, the symbol of Lord 'Om' and the Kovidar tree. Saffron color has traditionally been considered a symbol of sacrifice, bravery, devotion, and victory of truth. The association with the Kovidar tree is found in many ancient texts and it holds special importance in the Raghuvanshi tradition.

Religious importance of flag hoisting

In Hindu theology, hoisting the flag on the top of the temple is considered a symbol of the presence of the deity and the sanctity of that place. Waving the flag on the peak shows that Dharma has won there and the area has become auspicious and sacred. Today this event is being organized in Ayodhya with the same seriousness and dignity.
